What can I get my boyfriend for Christmas?
Im 16 and have very little money and my boyfriend is 18 and we have been dating for 4 months. He’s in law enforcement at jvs. He’s into techno, metal, rock, music like that. He also plays world of worcraft and rollerblading. Also he loves movies, many types, mostly horror and scary. He like playing pool, but he has a pool table already.
Even though I know all of this i still can’t figure out what to get him.
Can someone help me?????
Maybe, you can get him an Itunes gift card for his iPod so that he can add more songs. He can even add movies on it! You can get him some video games!

How to convert home movies to DVDs with your computer?
I have an old jvs camcorder and would like to convert my home movies to DVDs since VHS are pretty much extinct.
A year or so ago I bought a Sony DirectDV. You plug your camcorder
or whatever into the machine and pop in a DVD and let it transfer at real time. It takes a while, but it is pretty simple. You can’t edit except to stop and start which is pretty primitive, but it is easy.
There may be another product that is better, but it has worked for me.
I can also tape programs off TV/cable with it as well.

Question for JVs about dealing with the loss of my sister to your organization?
my sister has been studying with you guys for a couple of years now and will be a full fledged witness when the big service thingy comes to town in June. my question is this. How do I deal with the fact that I will no longer be in my sister and brither in laws lives? I will miss her terribly. can she still call me? Am I allowed at her home? What is the distance that she must keep from me? I do not do "immorel" things, I just do not beleive the same thing your organization does.
You have an interesting take on this matter, usually, when a relative becomes one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, the family shuns them in ways that are unimaginable — not the other way around. I think your attitude of wanting to be a part of their lives will go a long way in helping you appreciate that you haven’t lost her.
I find it interesting that people call us a "cult" when we are the only religion on a global scale that is out in the open. We share exactally what we believe with everyone and our meetings are free, it is no secret. Like the comment above, saying people will "shed light" on our beliefs, people know more about our beliefs than anyone else’s, because we want people to know what they are.
On that same point, if we need people to shed light on our beliefs, wouldn’t we be locking ourselves away, letting people in only if necessary if at all. You do not join Jehovah’s Witnesses, you become one. You mention that your sister has been studying for a couple years now, don’t you think she has had the opportunity to make an informed decision, she makes the choices in her life, we don’t sign people up — we offer free bible studies.
If you want her to stay in your life, my advice is to be civil. My family used to always try and throw in assinine comments, but never had any substance behind them except that they didn’t like JW’s, nothing more. I wasn’t preachy to them, if they were not interested, that’s their choice. If you want to be in her life, be respectful of her decision and she will respect you in return for it.
Just of note — we don’t disown our families, however, we do dedicate our life to Jehovah, which means we put him above all other things. She will be busy, but stay in touch.

What would I have to do to become a registered nurse?
I’m a sophomore in high school, and becoming a registered nurse is what I want to do with my life. There is a program for juniors and seniors at jvs to do with nursing & it gives early experience and everything out there. So instead of just sitting in a classroom and stuff all day, I can go to JVS take the classes I need to graduate and plus classes for nursing and such. Is this a good idea? And what do I do about college? Please and thanks in advance
Find a nursing program. They have them at most community colleges. Or you could go to a university with a nursing program.

Are there any Division 1 football schools that field a Junior Varsity team also?
I know some of the smaller schools have JVs, but is there any Div 1 teams that also have jvs? I dont think so, but I may be wrong. Thanks.
I think all of the Military Academies (Army,Navy, and Air Force) have JV teams. I do remember watching the Army and Navy squads hooking up one night.
