From Nothing To Something… How To Get There
You’re online because you understood that it’s a place to make extra money. Maybe you lost your job, or maybe you’re on social security and having trouble making ends meet. Or maybe, your current job just isn’t cutting it in this economy. You need something to tie you over, or just to make life easier. But here’s the kicker… you don’t know anything about computers. All you have is an idea, and you want to get that idea onto the Internet.
OK then, you need help. If you don’t know much about computers, and you’re going to take the time to learn before getting your idea out there, someone will already be up and running with it before you know it — probably before you learn how to buy a domain name. The key to Internet marketing success is speed. It always wins out.
So, what can you do? Find joint venture partners that can do what you can’t. If you’re a good copywriter, that’s great! You need a tech person, and you need a person just to push things through. Maybe that’s you, too, but generally, when you’re focusing on getting sales pages written, emails, and all that a good sales system needs, you won’t want to be dragged away to settle choosing a hosting company and all that. So, you need someone who knows online business, and will push you and your tech person to get things done.
You’ll also need someone who can drive traffic to your page. This should be someone who knows things like SEO, article marketing, blogging, pay-per-click, etc. This person should be versed in all forms of traffic. Why? Because if you don’t drive traffic, no one will come to your website and you won’t make any money. So, traffic is crucial.
How do you find these people? There are several ways, actually. You can go to one of the outsource sites, like Elance.com, Guru.com, or ODesk.com. Or, you can go to a forum about Internet marketing. Throw a post up that outlines the type of help you’re looking for. Try colleges for tech folks or place a newspaper ad for the type of folks you need. Convince them that your idea is a good one and get them to sign on with you as a partner, not as an employee.
This could be tough with strangers. You’ll need to be a bit of a salesperson to make this happen. But if you aren’t very sales oriented, you might already know people to help. Your friends might have the skills or their kids might. Just keep looking until you have the people you need to complete the team.
Building a strong Internet marketing business isn’t as daunting as it seems, but you have to take action and you have to do it quickly.
